The Horse & Trap in Mt Eden hosted the Mount Gay NZPQC on Sunday October 19. An excellent turnout of 34 teams representing venues from throughout New Zealand provided for a very exciting championship.
The eventual winners, the R & C Social Club from the Gables Tavern in Herne Bay, Auckland, led for most of the quiz, but had a howler of a final round, allowing both the Loud Speakers from The Saint in Brown’s Bay, and Muppet’s Magical Mystery Tour from The Copper Room in Takapuna to bridge the gap to a solitary point at the completion of the quiz. A tie break allowed the Muppets to take second place.
Overall, simply a brilliant day had by all, many thanks to our sponsors from Maxxium and the staff at the Horse & Trap.
